    All Matching Maltby Question

I am looking at a 1943 Maltby that is for sale. Number on receiver, barrel, butt socket, bolt, and magazine all match. However, I noticed ZF stamped on the right hand side near the butt plate, which as far as I know was an armourer mark for Beyond Local Repair or fourth line repair needed.

Should I be weary of buying this rifle?

There are sooooo many threads discussing the dreaded "ZF" and all are available to the search function here... https://www.milsurps.com/showthread.php?t=18070 https://www.milsurps.com/showthread.php?t=47769 https://www.milsurps.com/showthread.php?t=25604

    Be weary, be very weary...

Actually buying won't matter, just shooting. Then, you may get lucky.
    Regards, Jim
