Fortunately in my archive (attic) I happened to have a 1960 museum catalogue for the Montagu Motor museum, Beaulieu and the actual aircraft, pictured in post 1 and my previous post 10 is listed as an exhibit. It would seem that this aircraft had a very senior member of the RAF use it, post WW2, according to the museum catalogue.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Mystery Spitfire In UK

Sorry, try typing Vintage Wings of Canadaicon
If some of you old timers have a book entitled "Spifire-The Story of a Famous Fighter" by Bruce Robertson printed in 1960 and published by Harleyford Publications, there is a photo of SL721 painted as J-MR on page 108.
