    Italian M4 Carbine bayonets

It seems these things are everywhere, and run $39 with an M8A1 style sheath. From what I have read, they are Italianicon military issue, use for all those FAT77 Carbine that CMPicon brought back. They have the Dutch style plastic grips, i.e a plastic version of the leather handle that screws on in two halves. They actually look a lot like the original Colt Model 601 plastic handled bayonet.

Anyone know if they are as good of steel as the USGI ones? Ropop M4 bayonets tend to have junk blades, except the Imperial re-issue in the 1990s. I want to pick up a bayonet for my Quality. Even the USGI plastic handle Conettas are running $100. I refuse to pay $175 to $200 for a leather handled one! Years ago, I had a Dutch M4 when they were cheap like the Italians are now. it was pretty cool.

What happened to the ones you had? I thought you at least had a couple of them, one with a rubber handle and another with leather. Maybe like me - sold them and now regretting it! - Bob

Yep, sold both of them in a fit of insanity. After I sold the Standard Products a couple years ago, then the white bag Inland last year I sold them both. I did keep most of my magazines, and most of my ammo and all my reloading supplies.

I do know where I can get a new in box Connetta for $60, with no sheath. Trouble is, M8 are over $75, and M8A1 are $45 for just the sheath!

I bought a few of the Italianicon surplus bayos, AET late 50s marked, they are of good quality. Midway USAicon had some great buys not too long ago on USGI Conetta bayos in mint shape.
