    no4 lee enfield mk2 restoration

I acquired this 1952 fazakerley Enfield no4 mk2 from a stranger. I went with my brother to a mans house, my brother was going to look at a tree to cut on his sawmill. we started talking guns and before long we was in the mans house and he was showing us his gun cabinet with a glass door. I said oh you have a no4 he knew nothing about it and handed it to me. he said it was his dads that had passed away. I told him what I knew about the gun. out of the blue he said take it home with you. I said I didn't want to take his gun, he said I will just throw it away! I said ok. the metal and wood was rough, but the barrel is excellent + so I found some new old stock walnut. I bead blasted the metal and painted it with gun-kote matt and semi gloss mixed 50/50 and baked it on. yesterday I threw some of my favorite loads together, 45gr of IMR 4350 and a sierra MK 174gr. at 50yds off hand it shot as good as I cold hold it, very tight group! I am pleased with the gun,,,,,,,,,,,,,[IMG][/IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][/IMG][/IMG][/IMG]

Finish looks good as new, like it was just redone in arsenal. With a great barrel, it makes it worth redoing. Good job...

well it groups fantastic! with a full charge of RL15 and a sierra 174GR. matchking at 90yds it will shoot 3/4 in. 3 shot group constant off the bench. but it shoots about 8in high. I ordered a 0.090 front sight. it should be here Monday. that should do the trick,,,,,,,,,,,,,
