    1903 RB stock

I am starting a reenactor replica project of a rod bayonet rifle. Have found most parts but am stumped on finding a stock. Purchased an early repo stock (pre 1910) from Dupage Trading some time back. I could make a RB stock out of that if obtainable without the inletting for the front band. But Dupage lost their stock supplier a few years back. Anyone know a source? Any suggestions? Anyone know who made stocks for Dupage? Contacted Dunlaps and all they have are standard later '03 stocks. I have an already slightly cut down (3/8 inch) early stock and may just have to cut it down to the rear band and splice in a new piece of wood. Hate to do that though.

Both Jim Tarletonicon and Kent Allen are doing RB repros - you might contact them. I'm assuming you have LOTS of patience???

If it is the one I'm thinking of, it STARTED OUT as a RB stock but was modified to later standard - the plug is fitted.

    Rick,

My RB rifle is all original with no repro parts whatsoever.

I sold my repro parts to Kent, and I think he outbid me on that repro bayonet latch recently. Bad Kent.

By the way, one of our own is selling that stock (not me), and it is a shortened RB stock, and worth more than the current price in my opinion.

Sorry, I just purchased a repo latch and front band on ebay.

It would be tough to use any stock that is already inletted for the M1905 bayonet type forward band. I already have a none RB, .30/'03 converted stock.

    Jim,

I didn't bid on the latch, it sounds as if Steve is the culprit! I still need a bayonet latch, Fixed rear sight base and hand guard. I have everything else.

Does the RB hand guard use a Kragicon hand guard clip riveted on to the hand guard?

Sorry about that, Jim. I thought it was a repro, but that is what "senioritis" does to you!!

Yes, the originals did indeed have two clips riveted to the handguard with iron rivets.
