Those are Redfield inserts. Note that the tabs are of unequal size which is the give way. Lyman tabs are the same on both sides. On the Lyman sights the inserts can be mounted either way ;on the Redfield sights they go in only one way. I own and have used both globe slights. The Redfield 66 series are larger in diameter than the Lyman 17 series sightss

Cosine, what makes you think Redfield makes inserts?

Just spoke to my Lyman rep., and unless they have it backwards........ They make the inserts for Redfield.

They look like Redfield Globe Sigtt insert, but without measurements I cannot really say. During the 1960 only Redfield had the two size tabs. Evidently I am incorrect.

You might not be incorrect. My source was the marketing department at Lyman. Elevated car salesmen? LOL

Here is a picture of Redfield M66 Sight and apertures (on left) and Lyman 17A SF with apertures (on Right. Notice that on the Redfield apertures one tab is larger than the other .

Thanks. I've been including those particular apertures with all of the Diopter we've made and shipped for the past 20 years now. Typically I bought them in Canadaicon 100 at a time, but in random aperture sizes... whatever was available. The aperture size is stamped on the larger of the two tabs and are always installed with that number facing forward. Now we're selling them direct as a dealer on our website, Swiss Products | swissproductsusa | Kalispell Montana
Lyman told us that they offered both types, and whether or not the rep was being straightforward with me might be debatable. At any rate, the type carried by both Redding and Lyman is the kit we stock for our Type PS and P11 Diopter systems.
    Thanks for the info, C26.

    This is our front sight.

And this is our next production project.

Same inserts were found on Anschutz target rifles I had at the Cadet Corps I commanded, 35 plus years ago. Don't recall the model. 190's, I think. I suspect there'd be a standard size for the apertures.
    1024 pixels is too big.
