    Question Arisaka Rifle

    Good day all...
I am new to this site so if I'm starting a thread that is already been covered, my apologies.
I found this site based off some searching off the internet so I thought I would go ahead and reach out to you.
My young son picked up an Arisakaicon type 38 rifle not to long ago.. pretty cool rifle for sure.. looks to not have been fired in a very long time. So we are in the middle of cleaning out corrosion, rust, gunk etc... but in doing so we faded out some of the original wood on the stock and you can visually see the difference from where it was hit with chemical and where it was not..... My question. is it worth to hit it with a little stain to just bring back the color all over.. I Mean we really want to just keep it and fire it, keeping it as much to how we found it..
Cool thing about this rifle is all the original markings are still attached and had not been scratched off.

    thank you ALL.

Photos of the affected area would help. Hard to give advice when we can't see what the problem is. What solvent were you using that caused the discoloration?
