Need tiny rollers for gun cabinet slt. OT

I need some very thin rollers almost no thicker than beads. I have a floor to ceiling gun cabinet that I would like to be able to roll. As it is there is only about 1/2" clearance with the ceiling. The reason is that my wife is a fanatic housekeeper and wants to be able to clean behind it. I have considered taking it apart and inletting regular wheels into the base but I keep thinking someone must make some kind of very low profile rollers maybe almost like ball bearings sandwiched like old display case glass window runners. Anybody got any ideas? I know there are lots of "Handy" guys on this forum! Help!

If it's on a hard wood floor just use four squares of carpet with the carpet side down and slide it. If it's on carpet use the Teflon furniture sliders in all four corners. Just leave them under the cabinet.

Griff, I wish I had an answer to your problem of moving the cabinet. It seems your wife, like mine, has a hobby that interfears with our hobby at times. However since she has not ever said "what do you need that one for?" I go along with it.

You did not say what kind of flooring you have beneath the cabinet. If it is carpeting, try putting a set of those "plastic" movers they often advertise on the TV. I have a set under my gun cabinet and one set under the corner china cabinet that I keep under them all the time. It might take some doing to place them, but once placed it should work for you.

    Thumbs up

Having been a painting contractor for 500 years or so, and after pulling every muscle in my back at least once moving peoples china cabinets etc., I'd have to say that those sliders are the best thing since canned beer, and they're only about 1/4" thick. Steve

Instead of cleaning under the gun cabinet...

Why not just seal all around the base with silicone? That way, you'll never have dirt under there... Problem solved. Good luck, Karl

Even if it's a concrete floor, those teflon sliders will work. Moved my gun cabinet by myself after brother-in-law was a no-show two days running. Took all of 3 minutes to move from one side of the garage to the other. Didn't even have to empty the safe!

    Thanks to all!

By the way the floor is hardwood. They should be ideal. I guess I live in a bubble; I had never heard of them!

The Teflon will scuff hard wood floors. I wood use four squares of carpet to slide it.
