Thumbs up New (to me) Rem Rand 1942(?)

I gave up all hope of getting one of the CMPicon guns, after I received my random number of nearly 19,000. Then I found this one on Empire Arms for a price very competitive with CMP, rolled the dice, and got this. All correct: frame, barrel (High Standard), slide, and grips (Keyes Fiber). How much is original, no way of telling. My gunsmith declared it a solid piece, safe to shoot, but should I? Is it really 'collectible'? Anyway, I'm happy with it, and still considering taking it to the range for a few rounds.

More like a nice piece to have. Collectible...well, Remington-Rand made about the most and the Marines used them extensively. Seems you still find more of them than anything else. Nothing wrong with that one and yes, I'd shoot it. Don't need to change anything, except maybe the recoil spring...sometimes they get mushy and no one will see it's been changed. That will keep it from beating itself to pieces during firing.

Do a search on the number of RR 1911s, you'll be astounded how many were made. Shoot it.
