    Auction for a Rock Island

On GunAuction (not Gunbroker) #16036637. Might be an interesting one to try to restore. It's a low number, #5492, but it looks like the receiver is the only origional part and that has a couple holes in the receiver ring and in the bridge. The sling looks old enough to be period. The bid is 350 something now with a day to go. The barrel is a Sedgley USMC, The bolt shroud and the trigger guard are A3's; it has a scant stock. I can't tell about other parts from the pictures. It's probably too expensive, and extensive a project to take on but I thought I'd give a "heads-up".

A lot more details are required plus some good photos to be able to identify this rifle.
