Just for kicks, I sent off an email to them asking how the 180 hold falls in line with the Expedited Funds Availability Act. I suggested that if they couldn't enlighten me then perhaps the Department of the Treasury could explain it to me.
I don't expect them to let go of my money but I don't really have much to lose at this point, haha.

And THAT'S why they drag their feet in both payment and returning cash. That's how they make their money at YOUR expense. That's why I couldn't wait to close that account when I completed my transaction.

It's worth pointing out here that I'm really to blame for my funds being held.
    1. I violated their rules.
    2. I left money in my account.

I'm not going to starve or anything but I have $1k in there that I'd rather not wait 6 months to get. I kept it in there for convenience, really. Shipping came straight out of it, eBay fees, the rare return.
    Not worth it, folks.

    Learn from me!
    1. Follow the rules.
    2. Don't leave money in your account.

"...after 2020 E-Bay will be breaking with PayPal..." E-Bay has already broken up their evil anti-firearm Empire, as I recall. That doesn't mean they're not owned by the same people who fund the people who want to take your firearms away from you. Always amazes me when I see firearms related businesses using PayPal.
Same sort of thing happened to the guy at .303British who was selling his bullets several years ago. Account suspended and money confiscated.
    Spelling and Grammar count!

    Hi all,

Just a bit of an update on this. I was able to speak to someone at eBay today about this. I pointed out to them the likely thousands of dollars of fees eBay would miss out since I can't currently sell.

He told me something very telling.

Apparently, they cannot currently just "push a button" to opt people into Managed Payments. It is a case-by-case review of sellers and only limited amount will be let in per year due to "certain agreements with PayPal."
While it does me diddle good, he did say they plan to be 100% converted over in 2 years time.

So, I'm inventory overloaded and SOL on the eBay front.

Time to find an alternative! Anyone have experience with eBid?

Apparently you are not allowed to sell "Victory Bells" on eBay (even though many others do) or so eBay told me when I tried to do so a little while ago. The reason given to me was that the aluminium from which they were cast, just after WW2, was originally part of a wartime Germanicon aircraft. I explained to them that there are no Nazi symbols on it and they were originally sold post WW2 to raise funds for RAF charities but to no avail. I was told that the item had been "flagged up" should I ever attempt to list it again on eBay.

It's even got the outline of Churchill's head on it, plus the other 2 allied wartime leaders, Roosevelt and Stalin!

Did you use the word “nazi?” They have keywords that are immediate flags, I’ve found. M14icon, AR15, Nazi. Things like that.

No, not as far as I am aware.

After eBay removed my listing I lost all record of what I had stated so I have no way of going back to check the precise wording of my listing. While I don't recall using the word "Nazi" it is still, however,l possible that I could have included a phase along the lines of "No Nazi markings". I just don't recall having done so but I can't be certain either way.

I got flagged once years ago for attempting to sell model aircraft decals which had swastikas on them. Forgot about that until these recent posts. Didn't really get in trouble, they just removed the listing and gave me a warning. After that, I went through my model kits and found that all the newer Germanicon ones were missing the swastika decals. Older ones still had them. Rather amazing how important it is to some people to hide history.
