I'm sure it will sell briskly, but unless I find out it has a ton of never heard of information in it, I'll pass, at least for the foreseeable future.

Same here. Between all of the books that I now have and all of the notes that I've taken over the years, I doubt that there is much of anything in it that I don't already have.

Good to see they're being published again - possibly by the same family? That should take care of the scamming that's been going on with older issues being offered at several hundred dollars. - Bob

That listing looks questionable - publication date is listed as 2007 and 6th edition is pictured. That's a good buy, even if they're the older ones!

I am hoping that Midway just did not update the description on the listing. I expect a copy in a day or so, if not an "8th" edition it will go back. If in fact an "8th" edition, I will follow up with any evident changes from the 7th edition.

I've been using a 6th, but have an unopened 7th. I need to do some research to see if someone took over North Cape when the owner/publisher died a year or so ago. Let us know when you get it - the changes should be listed near the back of the book. - Bob

Years of written records in the old copies

    Thx Wayne,
I see them on Ebay shipped at about $30 for the 8th.
I have the 7th, 6th and I believe the 4th but all are in rough shape with pages falling out.
But written in and stuffed full of notes and corrections from over the years. Serial numbers and even what I paid for some of my carbines and extra parts. To include some seller names, phone numbers, Email and mailing addresses.
I even have sections with usernames of Stock stamping humpers and Stock stamp buyers.
I'll buy the 8th for the few additions and to have a Fresh Clean Copy in new condition.

I lost or left my first copy of War Baby somewhere years back while traveling for work to or from Louisiana. So many lost notes from back in the days when we often heard from so many well informed, like BQ, Newscot, Mr. Ricca, Bubba-Roger M, USGI collector Dave, D Barnette, BobG, ScottR, Mikey from New Zealandicon, JimF4m1's, Quagmire, Chairborneranger and so many more we don't or won't hear from anymore. Those notes could never be replaced.

War Baby III is the one I'm on the fence about...... Have heard others that wrestle with the format.
Would love to hear other opinions about War Baby III ??

My best resources are albums I save passed to me from the 'Maize King' in Indiana. Those I consider priceless.
The latest was a Buy It Now find he made of a early UEF with a SERIF S marked flip sight !
Same carbine I was watching offered by a fellow Michigan seller. I was waiting for a reply to some questions I had asked the seller. I had even looked up how far the drive would be in case I could go look at it in person. Next I know it was sold. Didn't know it was the King until he sent me an Email to show it off........

    Regards,

I'm in that group - it takes forever to find something unless you just happen to stumble on it while browsing. You have to have 1 and 3 open at the same time - hard to do while sitting in your easy chair! - Bob

    Thx GIUS Bob,
Your's is one of dozens of the same complaint I've heard or read.
I think I'll stay on the fence about buying WB III for now.
Lord knows I have enough $$ heading out the door right now with my Mothers Nursing costs.

I have the 7th edition, and for $20, I am sure I'll soon buy the eight edition.

Regarding WB III, I have all three volumes and enjoy each of them. Yes, the organization is perplexing to say the least. One needs the complete set.
