I don't have the handguards but I have a Walnut (I think) stock that's crazy tiger striped. Really tight pattern. Have yet to clean and re-oil it.

That is a very nice piece of wood. It`s crazy how many museum quality stocks were just oiled and sent out. Now we get to enjoy then. That is truly Beautiful grain.

Unbelievable New development Ebay Seller emailed me and listed perfectly matching Handgaurd for this stock. It`s now on the way as well. Did I pay too much? What does the community think of paying $165 Total for a matching SA Stock/Handgaurd of such quality?? I personally am very happy.

I don't think that's a lot for a nice striped wood set, as long as it wasn't done with a torch or stain last year.

The Stock is 100% striped inside and out very nicely the Handguard... appears to have been possibly produced still haven`t put my hands on them though. The matching of the colors are perfect though. So I will see Monday when they both get here.

Every now and then we do get lucky, or in the right place at the right time. I purchased a refurbished turn-in M14icon stock last year. The thing had been stained with something that looked like liquid brown shoe-polish. I stripped it and started applying RLO....there was a tiger under the hood.

I`ll have to see it with my own eyes but from the pictures provided I don't think I will be doing much but oiling it down. but I really like to showboat a stock like that I hope the Handgaurd is good to go. I bought a M14icon from Freds 3 Yrs ago that was am ugly Black and found a beautiful Blonde Beech under the grime.

    M1icon C Fan,

I usually don’t like the really light stocks like that, but that is a beauty!
