will weaver/Redfield scope mounts work on M48?

Hello, I just got a Zastava M48, circa 1951, in really nice shape, with a sling. The only thing is the receiver is tap and died for a scope. I don't want to spend the money for the Zrak scope base. I have found Weaver and Redfield bases that say they are for Mauser 98s. Redfield part #47515 or Weaver part #48648. Has anyone used these bases for a scope?

The Redfield base worked, just had to grind down the rear base's corner so the bolt handle clears it.
