Something I never intended to buy and wasn't even looking for, as I was looking for a new Royal Enfield cafe racer, I say new as the ones I was looking at are now being replaced by a newer model, but the ones still left in the dealers are offered at around £4000 on the road..... nice bike for what you get.

Anyway whilst looking on ebay an advert caught my eye, it was a Royal Enfield WD/C, not a complete bike but I had a think and contacted the seller......... made an offer and a deal was done.

It turned out the location was not far from Holts Auctioneers, very handy as I did a deal on some unsold lots and my FAC renewal had come through with my variations.

I dont intend doing much on the Enfield as yet, just sourcing the missing bits etc and to get it running, it has WD/CO crankcases with a WD/C cylinder head, so someone has made a Side valve engine out of a OHV engine. It was registered and it has been running at some point.

The previous owner passed away, but had started doing some small jobs on it, one was the petrol tank, which was sold as the Bike was in a separate storage so not known about until the V5 was discovered, I gather other bits may of been taken off at the same time ......

Picked the pistols up and bike yesterday, its a shame the Romans never did tunnels, its a pain in the rear trying to get to from The North West to East coast, as its a up and down or down and up drive.

That's a nice bike you have got yourself BD6 quite a feat from an OHV to a SV keep us updated on progress we have a fun competition thing going on facebook my dealer started it, buying a junket bike pre 2000's and doing it up I am looking at a 1991-92 4 cyl CBR 250RR for a $800 not running mice chewed wiring but looks pretty straight 48000klm on it not much to do on it they when derestricted give 600cc bike a scare very light with about 50hp.

Also For those that may have missed my previous post ~ Anyway sticking with the bike theme a while ago I picked up a stable mate to my V4 & 848 Dukes, an 1199cc Tricolore 2012 model with 1500Klm on it was owned by a Barrister who apparently did not ride it much!
It has had the stock mufflers removed (came with the bike) then Termignoni slip ons installed, CPU has been flashed the O2 sensor removed plus also removed that Euro 4 device that quietens them for suburbia a valve inside the exhaust controlled by engine revs. (My V4 still has it on its pure B/S)
So its wet at 195Kg twin cyl bike in standard trim with 195 crank Hp but with the mods its probably 187Kg wet pushing around 205-207Hp at the crank it now has 3,500klm's on it I am still taking it easy with the engine no extended hard accelerations it is a very nice bike Ducati do not do many of them. (Pic are from my I-phone at my dealers M/C shop I got it from.)

My V4 (2nd set pics) I have put a sticker kit on whilst the all red was nice it was OTT so broke it up a bit I have about 8,900klms on it now just had a new rear tyre $468 thank you very much, its still a weapon and being a Gen 1 v4 by Ducati it is a keeper well they all are really.
I finally got my Repsol 2009 CBR 1000RR going with new sprockets & chain as the ones on it were stuffed....

Thanks Luis, Its a WD/C but has a miss match of parts, the tool box is on order.......got it started yesterday but the clutch give up after so many starts, the clutch centre/ spider was badly worn on the splines, looks like its come loose a few times from the main shaft, at least I spotted it now rather than later.
So will try and track one down tomorrow but won't hold my breath, need to find out what box I have as I just found out the C and CO had different box's, the main shaft on the C is smaller diameter than the CO..... all part of the fun of WD Bikes is hunting down the parts.

The pistols were intended, but the Bike was an extra on the way back..... made sense on a 10 hour round trip, wife doesn't agree on that one............ strange woman.

Post WW2 my father owned an ex WD Royal Enfield bike and when he eventually decided to sell it he found that no one wanted it and so he broke it up for spare parts. Unfortortuniately there wasn't much interest for the spare parts (1950's) either but as my father didn't like throwing anything away he retained the spares that he couldn't sell and even took them with him, several times, when he moved home. The very last spare part from this bike which I personally had the honour of selling, in the 1980's, was a "triangular" toolbox and it wasn't only distinctive in it's shape but it also had a special document holder on the inside of the cover. I remember the chap who purchased it being very pleased that he had found this missing toolbox to complete his restored WD Royal Enfield. The impression that I got was that these triangular toolboxes with the document holder on the inside of the cover are not that common.

F10, yep the the triangle toolbox is rare item but not as much as the square one which was only for a WD/C many fitted to the WD/CO but not correct for this bike. the WD/C had a right side fitting tool box the CO had a left one, the right side I think is more rare, saying that I picked up a left hand side one from a car boot sale for 50p .......

In fact anything for a WD bike is becoming rare but for a RE WD/C some bits are like hens teeth, have some parts inbound from Australia as I type.


Just received a correct Lucas light switch today (4 position) for the Enfield, but may use it on the matchless as this only has the 3 position. I'll be making my own clutch centre (spider as there as rare as hens teeth, turned down a sutibal piece of pump shaft and just awaiting to pick up my rotating turntable for the Milling machine, need to machine 5 internal splines.......not something I was expecting at this stage, but all part of a restoration.

Luis if your reading this, I'm making a detailed drawing of the pannier frames, as I need another two for the RE, once finished I'll send a copy, I eventually dug them out from storage last week as I was looking for some other bits I've amassed.
