Very "unusual" Bren barrel handle seen on eBay

I noticed this interesting variation on the Bren barrel on eBay today.

Things must have been tough in Rhodesia that necessitated this level of improvisation?

Thats the extra rare wild west Africa quick draw grip for lightning fast barrel changes. Also handy when you need to quickly get your gun off the ground and get out of trouble quicker than you got into it.

Yes I remember the carry handle (then attached to the gun) when giving all the SA 7.62 Brens the once over when they were first imported and pre deactivation.I thought at the time it was a nice little touch.
Also as an aside there were 3 0r 4 ZB39's that came over with the Brens.
