    Winchester 97 Trench Gun

I have a Winchester 97 trench gun. The firearm is all correct except for the fact it is parkerized. Went to the polishing room in 1942 and the serial number is in 938000 range. I am interested in finding out how many WWII went to the US Navy. The reason I think this was a Navy firearm is that the stock is marked NEGFD (Naval Emergency Defense Forces). thanks any input or information will be appreciated. L am thinking about thinning out my collection and any information would b helpful.
