Tried the gun out yesterday. Click, nothing.

Light primer strike on commercial ammo!!?? Need to break it down and clean out firing pin tunnel OR, order a new hammer spring with some spring to it.

    Does Firing pin move freely?
Can't hurt to measure it.... It should protrude .048 to .065 inch. I'd also look at the tip with a Mag glass.
Good time to clean and lube the complete Bolt assembly.
Maybe try another Bolt while the old one is soaking in cleaner.

Good luck and keep us posted

That's possible. Also ammo is in question, unless you can rule it out. Is it new factory? Just procure new GI springs, not anything like Wolff over power springs. Is your firing pin nose in good shape? All the things Charlie mentioned too... Yes, keep us posted.

Also make certain the bolt is closing all the way. Very often the tiny dimple on the primer is from the firing pin bumping the primer as the bolt stops. This can happen if the bolt stops short of full closure. If the bolt isn't completely closed, it may close when the hammer hits the rear of the bolt. The culprit in these cases is the extractor, not the firing pin or the hammer. Check to make sure the extractor is riding over the rim of the case when the bolt closes. If it doesn't, you need to take the bolt apart and clean the extractor, spring, pin and spring hole.
When they tell you to behave, they always forget to specify whether to behave well or badly!

Thanks men. The bolt is operating correctly in the feed, close and extract function. This is a brand new Inland Advisor, but slipped into my own cut down stock. I should have test fired in the factory stock first, at least! It did not go to the range with me.

The Ammo is factory fresh PPU.

It will be easier to check the firing pin and replace the hammer spring myself, instead of shipping back to Inland. If it still light strikes after that, all original parts will go back in and a call to Inland will be made.

Thank you for all your suggestions.

    Inland pistol Advisor

Well, it has been a while now and my interests had gone to other things. I shipped the pistol (on my dime) to Inland and they looked it over in short order and informed me they replaced the barrel??! OK, whatever it takes. They even sent me a link to a video with the gun running through about 15 rounds, non stop. GREAT customer service.

Well, after it returned, I did not get it back to the range for a month or two. Discovered, it will run 2 -15 round magazines, then starts doing the SAME THING! Didn't have the heart or the strength to go thru the process again with Inland at that moment. I will contact them after the New Year and see about mailing it back one more time. After that, I break it down and sell it for parts. The mailing back and forth is going to eat up any discount I realized in buying it.

If they changed the barrel then it almost sounds like a head space problem in that it might have been short chambered. But if the bolt closed then the head space would be the other way and the chamber was made too long. But I think now would be the time to soak that bolt and check all the parts in it. Also clean the chamber well. The new Inland company has not had a good reputation for quality products and their customer service has been very hit or miss. Many of their parts have been from Auto Ordnance who reputation is somewhere between null and void most of the time.
