    MkIII B Ross

Picked up a very nice MKIIIB Ross this weekend but it doesn't have any markings on the buttstock. It is marked LC for the widened chamber and a serial number 51. Were these actually used in WWI ? I presume the correct bayonet will have a Britishicon markings instead of Canadianicon? TIA, Husk

It's possible unmarked stocks were made up in the UKicon in WWII, or supplied from Canadians stores. We know from the "Wood Goes to War" film that P14 stocks were made at that time. MkIIIB was issued to Royal Marines and some second-line formations IIRC.

Much changes, much remains the same.
