    Starr Model 1863 SA revolver

For sale is a Starr Model 1863 SA revolver, made circa 1864. Succeeded the DA model which was not very popular among Union troops. Matching numbers, military acceptance stamp visible on the butt.
Shows surface pitting. Plunger in the ramrod is gummed up, mainspring is apparently broken...however, tilt the revolver downward and it cocks and locks as it play in the cylinder.
According to my research, this was the third most issued revolver to Union troops after the Colt and Remington. Not a great deal of these around. $700, antique.
