Sad Day - Last Mail-Order Ammo buy

So today my last mail-order milsurps ammunition order was dropped off by UPS. California suck SO hard. As of July 1 I will no longer have the ability to order ammo for my milsurpls rifles in even though I have a C&R Type 3 FLL and the California Certificate of Eligibility (COE) I paid mucho buck for. I can't find most of this ammo in gunstores and now I'll have to pay a premium and do a background check (even though I have a COE) if I need something because I will need to have a type 1 FFL order it.

Can't wait until my kid is in University and I can move out of this commie state and the sheep that live in it.

Have you considered getting your 01 FFL?
It’s really not that difficult a process. Even in my nice suburban (left leaning) town, the city gave me no troubles. It was almost comically easy.
Shoot me a message if you go for it and have any questions.

As I move closer to retirement, I had a plan to get my home shop set-up and then get the type 1 this year. I've already spent a ton on equipment and tools as my plan was to open a vintage restorations and repairs shop and as part of that business offer gunsmithing. The issue is though even with a type 1 I'll still have to get an ammunition vendor license and pat to get the login to do background check even if I don't plan to sell ammo. Right now the Peoples Republic of CA is trying to pass a bill that will change the law so that you can't do a gun or ammo business out of a residence.

Man usabaker you should come to our state if you think you have it tough! They are now going through peoples shooting records held at the clubs and if you have not shot much you may find the boys in blue at your door asking about your weapons, also owning more than one of the same caliber gets you into a bit of a pickle I had a doozy of time getting my collection of 303's as they are all shooters bar 1.......a safe queen.

Normally I'd just suggest reloading for those cartridges...sounds like you won't though.

Hi Jim, I do reload for most of them, its the ones that I rarely shoot like the 7mm Mauser. I do have dies for every caliber I buy though (shotgun excluded). Also, I have to get brass somewhere....

I have no doubts as the numbers if non-shooters grows in this country we will eventually end up like y'all down under. Just a matter of time. The problem here is the too many people in shooting community want someone else to fight, they just want to complain when the new laws come out.

That CAN be done, even if only rare shooting and you reload then you can shoot far more regular.
