    Pikes Peak

    For those of you who follow bikes ~ Carlin Dunne: Four-time Pikes Peak winner killed in race crash aged 36.

    Carlin was racing the prototype Ducati V4 street racer basically my bike with no fairings this bike was due for release in 2020.
    Apparently there was a bumpy bit not far from the finish line that was giving everybody trouble in the race.
    Carlin hit it at speed and lost control going over the edge into boulders initial reports had him moving but later sadly the news came through he had succumb to his injuries. RIP

    I am now worried that Ducati may cancel building the V4 street fighter as it being more than a handful, but I reckon you can ride any powerful bike sensibly.
    The bike shop I brought my V4 Panigale(Still Stock) from recently dyno'ed a stock 2018 V4 Panigale and its putting 201.7 horse power at the rear wheel 195Kg wet.

    See pic of the V4 street fighter it looks awesome.

    I read about the loss of Carlin at Pikes Peak, saw a tv clip of Guy Martin at Pikes Peak, awesome rise in track.
    I have a 996 2001 (red of course).
    Also a 400SS Junior 1984! that am doing up.
    The V4 looks a very sick bike, but at 70 it may be too much bike for me.

    I'd wager that with years of experience and developed skill that you'd probably be a damn sight safer than the majority who hop on one.

    Old Bike riders

    I have had my Panigale V4S since Sept last year after a 30 year break from bikes and I will tell you the bikes we rode way back then were nothing on these things yes it has all the bells and whistles but you have to respect what your butt is parked on in 1987 I sold my Honda VF1000R it had 120 crank Horse power for a 220Kg bike. Fast forward to this Panigale V4S it weighs 195Kg wet and is putting 201 horse power at the rear wheel (One like mine was dynoed the other week and it put down 201.7RWHP).
    When I candle this thing and it red lines at 14,500 it is terrifyingly quick and all it wants to do is throw you off the back the whistles keep the front wheel down I have mine on the 2nd lowest setting so it wheelies a bit but not to bad it will ditch you if you are a dick.
    Thing is if you do not respect the machine and its power then your playing with fire.

    All my bikes have names;
    My Dukes;
    The V4S is "The Angry one" stock standard as it does not need much more a full Akro system for it is $10,000 so going for Akro slip ons $3750 and a ECU flash had a sticker kit put on it too much red for me.
    2012 Tricolore 1199 "The Nasty one" has work done to it and ECU flashed brought 5 months ago 2nd hand with 1500 k's on it also is a handful 188 Kg wet with @205 crank horsepower,
    2009 848 "The Lively one" been worked on Termi's slipons, PWCMDR III, Q/S 49 tooth rear sproket ex track bike 168 Kg bike with no creature aids and putting 136.5 RWHP the most fun bike in the twisties in Zerox livery.

    I have a 2009 50th Anv Honda Repsol "Jenifer the Noisey one" and a 2003 1100XX Super Blackbird "The Lounge Chair" lastly a project bike a CBR 250RR "Hiroshima Screamer" as the red line is at 18,000RPM.......
    Have owned a few bikes when thats all I had some like my Z900's and ZIR MkI I should have kept we all have those issues, if your anything like me and survived those rigs we used to ride on and off road then you'll get to grips with todays bikes they really instill good confident riding as the actually help you watch the clips on the V4 and its slide control letting you slide it into corners I am not that brave.
    I enjoy all of my bikes the sheer exhilaration of unleashing the beast for just a few hundred meters is awesome but only a fool would ride flat chat for kilometers and there is no way known I could take the V4 flat on our roads too many cars and wild life having hit a roo on my ZIR at 140Kph so I know how things feel then in 1977 I was taken out by a car on my Z900 wrote the bike off and nearly wrote me off.
    Your never too old bloke just make allowances for slower reactions we have when older and enjoy the ride just because I have all that fire power does not mean I cannot tonk along like a-a-a-aa Harley! oops normally they are disappearing in my mirrors sorry guys I cannot help playing with Harleys and yes 2 of my riding buddies own them.
    Pics of my Dukes for you to have a gecko at
