It's a bit like pulling teeth but did anyone else get the joke in thread 8 where I referred to a magicians wand for 'cunning stunts' and the .410 shot for 'stunning xunts'? Oh well......., I tried !
Yes, I did, I read it whilst waiting for my wife - she had sent me a text saying she was in Casualty! I'd raced home and just caught the start of it, watched the whole episode with great concentration and she didn’t appear once, Not Once! She’s still not home, and I’m now very hungry!
Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

I honestly don't know my Enfields that well. MK2 was what the shop had on the tag. What's the difference between a MK2 and MK3?

Charlie, Do you have definitive proof that they were ALL chambered for standard 3" shells post 1948?
Absolutely not Brian. Only that all the .410's i have had that are dated post 1948 have accepted the 3" shells.

Springfield Sporters had tons of them. I think they were $79 or so back in the 80's and 90's. I still have one i kept. A conversion of a nice 1944 dated RFI rifle and reamed for 3" shells.
