Years ago, in the UK, I found myself in the position of having to give a chap first aid who had serious burns to both hands caused by holding a bundle of rockets that had gone off in his arms as he held them and before he had chance to set up for a fireworks display. The reason that the fireworks had gone off prematurely, sideways instead of the usual upwards, is because the chap had also been smoking a cigar at the same time which he considered to be a perfectly sensible and normal thing to do while holding a multiple number of fireworks. Obviously, the chap then needed urgent hospital treatment. It was fortunate that no-one else got hurt by the sideways trajectory of the wayward rockets.
I am not implying smoking, or anything else, as a likely cause to the fire and what happened in the video (Post 1) in any way.

Unfortunately, it has been a long time since they have been allowed to carry The Good Stuff (serious firecrackers like M80s & Ashcans).
I can recall as a kid in the '60s our family Summer trips from Virginia to Georgia, Dad's home state. We would always stop at a place named South of the Border, just over the NC/SC line, to stock up on the really good (and really dangerous) fireworks. It was hard to tell who was more excited by the prospect, me or my Dad.
