Want to ask is there anyway to tell the metal parts have original bluing or not...

Bought a ax41 k98 2 days ago. But not sure the metal parts have the original bluing or not. And noticed the cup butt plate is also has bluing on it. Need to find out ASAP. Just paid over 3000cad or 2000usd? I have 14 days to decide to keeping or return it.
    Thanks.

You paid 3k CAD for a K98kicon your unsure is original? I personally don't know enough to tell you for sure but I don't believe the cup buttplates were blued from the factory...

Lot of money to spend on something you aren't sure about. Sort of difficult to state an opinion on bluing without any photos.

Also on the butt cup alone, if they were original shouldn't it be in the white? Inside should have a red coating like a primer and stamps in ink from the factory...? Too much to pay except that there aren't many available any more, specially in Canadaicon...

Yes, we for certain need pics.
    Regards, Jim

I can't say one way or the other from those photos. Doesn't look like it has much finish at all that I can see. But some photos are showing dark blue where the next is showing nothing in the same area. Flash wash out shading or something.

I agree with Steve Very hard to tell from pictures. none of butt plate. Pictures look like normal wear an tear. But also shows different shades on barrel . Need some natural lite pictures.
