    L42a1 sling sold for GBP 410.00 on E-BAY

    A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered.  Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle.     Blimey, someone paid well over the odds. Sadly it is a buyers market, had he been a member of Milsurps, he would have got one for £150 and saved himself a divorce, could have even taken his wife out for a meal, and had money to spare!!

    To think we didn't care at all about that stuff when we were in, didn't know we were supposed to take home a railcar full to sell this much later. I could have paid for a house with all the Long Branch stuff now...also Parker Hale, FN...

    I have the square edge scope tin minus the sling/strap, and having looked at the silly prices occasionally asked for a replacement, i reckon it'll stay that way.
