Hello All,
I am a fairly new member here, I enjoy the info and history I get to see on this forum.
I just acquired a mixmaster Colt Government with serial # C 121xx. According to what I have read on this site and others that number falls into a group of Colts that was sent to Canada for WW1. I know I would need to get a letter from Colt to verify for sure if it was one of the ones in that grouping that was sent. It came with a Colt .22 conversion slide on it, so I am not sure if there is any value in a Colt letter for it.
It has a C stamp on the left side of the frame, but the markings inside the C do not resemble any Canadian Broad Arrow stamp example I have seen online. Anybody recognize this stamp?
It also has British Proof Marks on the right side, Not English Make and Birmingham Proofs showing a 1953 proofing date.
Thank You,
Dad LongworthInformation
