    Falkland Island L1A1's

    How times have changed!
Thumbing through some old copies of the UKicon's Guns Review Magazine and came across this advert placed by the Falkland Islands Government in 1993
I seem to remember reading a post somewhere that this was the source for the Anglo Custom (via Luxdeftec) Straight Pull conversions?

Interesting, I seem to recall that all the Anglo examples I looked at were all BSA, no Enfields among them, I often wondered if there was some convoluted legal reason that BSA (commercial MOD contact examples) were sold off and not Government owned ROF Enfield made examples.

Jeez, I'll take two of each!

Could be possible that the SLR's sent to the Falklands were all BSA contract? If drawn from MoD stores, you'd think they would be mixed manufacture.

I think, most, (if not all) the Falklands L1A1's were deactivated and sold with authenticity certificates.

I'm not really sure what was so collectable about these anyway, they were supplied after the Falklands war to re-equip the Falkland Islands Defence Force..

Been working on one for sometime Gill, its the power source for the flux capacitor that is causing issues........ There is a quite a few adverts in Guns Review that I need to go back for, mainly the Sherman tanks for £10K

Regarding the SLR and Browning HP, I'm lucky in the aspect that I get to shoot them twice a year , ( I can assure all tax payers it is a good cause and brings great happiness for a few)

Might seek out a legal US range next time I'm over where I can shoot a "proper" SLR, I know where there are a few that side of the pond in ex Police hands

Come and visit SC. We can shoot the whole line up of weapons from your time in service. SLR, SMG, GPMG and even pistols if you like. The range is about 50 paces from the back door of the shop.
