WRA Stripped Receiver

I picked up a stripped Winchester receiver on Saturday at the AGCA show in Birmingham. I kick myself for not also purchasing the Springfield the seller also had (What was I thinking?). The serial number is 2,33x,xxx so late 1943 and down the rabbit hole I go.

I also have a mix-master early 1943 Springfield that is in desperate need of rebarreling, I think I make into a shooter and goof around with putting together the WRA, to go along with my 1943 WRA Carbine and 1943 1911A1. What is it with me and 1943?

A correct WRA will run into at least $1500-2000 right now, so be prepared for $400 op rod, $700 barrel (if you don't want a sewer pipe) and no telling what for a stock!

I started several years ago and got the metal for about $1200 and still don't have a stock with markings and likely never will. It's a rough thing to build

That is why I was delighted to find a Grade B Winchester receiver at the CMP a couple of years ago with a '60s Toole rebuild mark. It allowed me to build a nice mixmaster "rebuild" Winny.
