    Mosin Bayonets

Just got this book on a whim as I found it on ebay with 2 minutes left. It was originally written in Russian and was a softcover so be careful if you find it to check which edition it is.

The second edition which I have is hardcover and has the original Russian and then English translations under.

No idea who the publisher is but the author in English is E. B. Barsukov

Format is large, roughly 8 1/2 x 11. Paper quality is mid range. 350 pages but take into account a lot of that is because of the two languages. Somewhat expensive with prices ranging from $85-100.

Below is a link the author posted on Gunboards. I paid $85 on ebay so check around. I suspect if you contact him he'll give you that price rather than the $100 stated on Gunboards. Oddly enough, the book came from the central US, not Russiaicon as I was expecting.

WTS: Mosin Bayonets Book by Evgeniy Barsukov 2nd Edition

English translations are adequate but a bit odd. It was not translated by someone who's first language is English.

All that being said, the book is incredible. My knowledge of Mosin Bayonets includes about half a dozen or so Russian/Soviet and the same with Finlandicon. This is filled with all sorts of bayonets I've never heard of or seen. It includes those of other nations including Austriaicon, Germanyicon, Finland. It's filled with photos, dimensions, etc, some of examples of which only one is known. Also has a few photos of troops, propaganda posters, etc. Photos are good quality and in color.

That publishing group in Russiaicon has some incredible books. I have that one on Mosin bayonets as well as two on the MN rifles themselves, and on on the SVT40. There is also a book on the SKS, and one on the AK which I have not gotten. They have others as well on Russian edged weapons, Germanicon bayonets, Japaneseicon swords, etc. Kind of like a Russian equivalent of Collector Grade Publications. Even if you can't find one with English translations (which are indeed odd, likely machine translated) the pictures are worth the price.
