    Ross 1910 mkIII unissued stock

Maybe Gordon needs some un-numbered wood to complete his barreled action?
I don't think this wood has ever been on a rifle. No numbers on the butt where the serial number would normally be but an interesting 77 stamp and a Crown inspectors mark .

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Gordon, I‘m trying to help you but without your assistance this is hard. If you don‘t accept my help to upload more pictures for you here it is fine, I don‘t need to. But please at least let us know which parts you actually have (only action or also with barrel, and if it was sportered in any way). Thanks!

I ended up buying this item. Having it in hands and checking the spacing as well as holding a reproduction rail made per exactly per the original specs (except for the fitting of the feet) I can confirm this was an original Ross Rifle M.1910 Sniper Rifle which had been fitted with a Canadianicon contract Warner & Swasey Model of 1913 Musket Sight. It interestingly also got confirmed by the very uncommon and rather unique threading one would not had assumed they have used which also corresponds with the original drawings.

From now on it will take a long time until it will be fully restored since it had been stripped of many parts and it will take time to find all of the missing parts, as well as repair what Bubba had done to it (who isn't the previous owner, to make it clear). It however deserves being restored and I will do anything to bring it to former glory. Fortunately I already have the toughest part for it - the original Canadian contract scope.

Attached a single picture showing of how the holes in the rail perfectly align with the ones in the receiver. More when progress has happend, possibly then in an own thread.
