A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Well, you're right about the simple kits for Canadaicon. One each. The section kits have been an issue from the time of the FNs so about 1956/58...and two per section for the LAR/section use. That carried on with the C9/C7...(Minimi/M16A2). The rifle kits for the C7 is far more detailed than the pullthrough/bore brush of the C1 ever was though.

"...and Canadaicon..." The C1A1 cleaning kit was in a, zippered, cloth bag not the butt. No cleaning 'solvent' issued, 30 some years ago, either. Regular 10W30 motor oil and nothing else.
The "Tobacco Can" cleaning kit was one per guy as I recall. There were "Mauser countries" that cleaning was by squad. The cleaning rod that stuck out under the muzzle was part of a rod that wasn't long enough without the other 2 guys. Don't recall what country.
    Spelling and Grammar count!

Wrong again sunray, the C2A1 kit came in a zippered cloth case. That was regarded as the "Section" kit, even though it was issued to one man to clean his C2 LAR. There were two of those in the section. The rifle had a simple pullthrough and oil bottle with a .30 cal Parker Hale brush...

Unfortunately folks he's got me on ignore so he can't tell when he's been sorted...and see corrections.
