    Identifying a '98 Mauser

    Good morning all!!

Can anyone help me identify this beautiful '98 Mauser I've come across? It's part of the estate of a recently deceased friend, and I'd like to disposition it properly...but have no experience with Mauser's and no interest in WW2 weapons. Can anyone help?

Many thanks in advanceAttachment 102485Attachment 102486

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. It's what known as a Russianicon capture. The Russians had many thousands of these that were refurbished and stored or given to Communist Freedom fighters over the decades since WW2. Many were exported from the Ukraine, Romania and Bulgaria over the past 15 years or so. The pinging of the swastika under the Germanicon eagle is a key to saying Russian capture. Value is not anywhere what bring backs are worth so between $400 and $600+ depending on finish and condition of the bore.
