Anybody been watching these Carbine items?

I bet some of the bidders on these items are biting their nails right now - I know I would be!
Curious if anyone has any comments. - Bob

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I liked the B-IP sight ok, but not enough to compete. Would've like to have it at 225 or so. The Win trigger group surprised me.

Even with the V notch modification? Always wondered how much that would detract. Same here on the Win TG. I wondered about the narrow mag wall on the S'G' TG - most I've seen are wide, but need to check my notes. - Bob

I've got a bunch of carbine parts that I'm going to sell soon. Just have to inventory it first. I'll let you guys know before I do anything with it. I do know there is a dog leg hammer in the lot marked NI and a type 1 sear marked R.I. but that's all I can remember off-hand. There is a late flat bolt too, but I can't remember what markings, also some springs, recoil plates, beat up butt plates and some other stuff. Oh yeah, there is also an unmarked modified type 1 extractor; another hard to find item. Give me a few days and I'll get a complete list together.

Yeah, even with the V notch, since a real once hasn't been sold lately that I remember. One sold for $150 buy it now several months ago. A Prime sold the same day from the same seller for $150 as well.

I'm always interested in IP, S'G' parts. That IP trigger group didn't convince me it is not refinished.

The S'G' from the auction looked very refinished to me. Had just enough finish wear to show the light contact rub points from being in a stock and from being attached to a receiver. Add a few hammer strikes to lightly mar the finish on the TH rail..... and there you have it.

Always hard to tell because of camera flash... But are the Pins Blued?

Then on the other hand this could have been a take off and stored in a parts drawer for 30+ years......

That was pretty much the claim on all of the items that sold yesterday. Charlie, what about the narrow mag wall on the Type 3 S'G' TH? Riesch doesn't mention it, but I haven't checked WB yet. - Bob

    Ive

I've bought from him in the past and the items were high quality. That just didn't speak to me. The bids say it didn't to other people either.

Wow .. makes me consider selling some of my M1icon Carbine spare parts too. Somewhere I got a bag with around 10 original flip rear sights, among the 15+ hammers, etc.
