    1989 Krag Franken-gun

Hey all, I need to find out the screw spacing on an 1898 Kragicon rifle or carbine rear sight. I picked up an excellent condition "sporterized" Krag several days ago. It was excellently done which makes me think it was a pro gunsmith conversion. Anyway, I would like to put it back into as close to original condition as possible. The barrel is drilled and tapped at 2 3/8" center to center spacing. Can anyone tell me the hole spacing on the 1898 rifle/carbine rear sights?

    Thanks in advance!

Sorry about the date above. I DO know it is 1898 not 1989!

Would love to see some pics of this.
Before spending a BUNCH of money returning it to original condition, you may want to see what it's worth as is.
A good sporter could be worth as much as an "original" worked up from spare parts.

I don't intend to return it to "as-issued" condition, just to restore the basic look of the Kragicon. I need to find a handguard and rear sight, hence my question about the hole spacing. It has a 22" bbl which I think was originally on an '03 (because of the front sight) and an incorrect stock with swivels - which again may be from an '03. If I can figure out how to post pictures, I will do so.

The spacing on the rear sight holes are all the same for the carbine or rifle as are the sight bases. 2-5/16 inch center to center

Oh yeah, that’s not a bad looking rifle at all.
I’d get a “blank” hand guard just to complete the look.
    You can get those here:

That peep is better than the original sights on a sporter anyway.
