    Front Sight Adjusting

Have a 1917 that is shooting about 8 inches left of center of target. I need to move the front sight but it is of course held firmly in place by staking. How do I relieve the stake so the sight will move without damage. A cold chisel would work but might be pretty ugly. Any ideas? Thank you.

You should be able to drift a sight without all that problem. A drift and a machinist's hammer, or make a sight cramp out of steel...that's a bit of an imagination job though.

Go through the checks Steve suggests first though...
    Regards, Jim
