Yugo Mauser identification. Turkey stamp?

Just picked this up. Would like to know a little more about it if anyone can enlighten me. mismatched bolt but everything else seems original. Has "turkey" stamped on receiver.

Seems like we just had a discussion on one of these not that long ago. Whether a similar rifle was ever used by Turkey or simply found it's way into a Turkish import lot. Has original 1924 crest which is relatively rare to start off. Seems to indicate it was not in post war Yugoslavia. No Turkish markings other than the import stamp. Seems to indicate if did not see service with Turkey. You might try a search on this site for Turkish Yugo.

Thank you. It seems like it's tough to find any info on non 24/47 or m48 Yugoslavian mausers. This is my first firearm and I'd like to learn as much about it as I can. The gun shop told me it was an FN but that seems incorrect. Is it pretty much the same gun as a 24/47?

Yes, we did have a discussion on one and you found it. It was my rifle. How I remembered the discussion but not that it was mine I'll attribute to my minor stroke. A 24/47 is a 24 that went through the post war refurbishments. They are essentially the same rifle that was simply rebuilt and the crests scrubbed and redone. It is possible it's an FN but it would be marked as such. Yugoslavia purchased FN 24's from Belgium before purchasing the license and manufacturing their own. Odds are it's not an FN. The receiver should have the manufacturer on it. It's a good rifle, most likely saw service in WWII, possibly with partisans, possibly with Germans or their allies

cool, this thing has a good bore and rifling but the stock is a mess. It has what looks like a very old repair, there's a bunch of holes in the wood in front of the recoil lug. cracks around one of the recoil lug screws. A 24/47 stock should work as a replacement right?
