    BSA No. 4 of 1945

This is my 1945 No. 4 BSA. All of the number match and I don't think it's been through an FTR.
The S.N. is on the action rail, left side. When the S.N. was moved from the socket to the action rail, during the 1945?

Nice honest looking rifle there. Yes, I gather the moving of the serial from left side of the butt socket to the receiver side wall occurred during the course of 1945. Both variants seem quite common.

    Thanks Roger,

So the S.N. was placed, during 1945, indifferently and simultaneously on the socket or on the side wall. Quite right?
