    Unusual 1943 No.32 Mk1 Scope.

    Another No.32 on "that auction site".

    Not seen one like this before? Is it a prototype or experimental version? I'm guessing from the date of 1943 that's not the case.

    Lots of odd bits on this, the turret wheels look strange, no locating pin and a standard fine crosshairs.

    The markings are;

    TEL SIGHING No 32 Mk I, OS 466A, 1943 No 8010.

    Strange nobody has commented. Not like anything I have seen before. The turret block does no have the rearward spigot the goes into the front mount lower ring, the drums are not standard. Crosshair instead of post and wire, yet marked as a mk1?

    Anyone got any ideas?

    Let the dog see the rabbit chaps...... It started its life as a Mk1 and someone in the past has chopped off the anti-rotation block AND the underside of the locking segment collar rings in order to make it fit his mickey mouse mount and sit low onto the rifle.

    Looks like the turrets have been 'streamlined' by rounding them off. It might be that the same cack-handed clown put his finger through the grat post and cross wire while he had it apart. So he's replaced the grat and post with a bit of fuze wire(?). And now, he's hoping to make a killing at the expense of someone.

    To be honest, I've seen much worse and that one is a simple fix to return to standard spec. New index plates, turret head thumb screws and grat.

    So worth nowhere near the asking price!

    Dunno Roy. Wot's he asking? At the right price and with a fixer with spares handy it could be worth a punt as they say. But looking at it again the range and deflection thumbscrews just need machining slightly, new serrated finger rings fitted and knurled. 20 mins each. Index plates easy to machine up or just use readily available and simple to modify Mk3 type

    That's an unequivocal: "NO!"
