    An OLDIE, but a GOODIE!!!!

I have three Colt Navys from the first shipment to the Navy in 1912...
    This is one of them!!!!

A photo of this Colt hangs in the old USCG Station on Cape Cod...

Also note the Type 1 magazine release...

For what I have seen over the years is that you have one of the best collections! I wish I could have just one nice 1911. Thanks for all of your photos and history of these fine 1911's. Please keep up the great work!

John, Thanks for posting that picture. I have an early Navy (Serial #72X) and it is also stamped "DEL" on the right side. I have always wondered about the crude stamp...

Well, I finally took a couple pictures. Here is my 3 digit also from the USS Delaware. (Before people go crazy pointing out the problems with this piece, I already know...) This was one of my first US Navy marked pieces, and with it being a 3 digit, I didn't really care much that it is not all correct. As I mentioned earlier, this one is pretty rough.

I also had a 4 digit serial number that was stampped "NEB" for the USS Nebraska.

I will eventually get a much better lighting set-up for pictures... but this is the best I can do for now.
