    Remington Lee 1879 buttplate

    Hello all,

I was wondering what sort of buttplate the Remington Lee 1879 uses. Mine is in awful shape but I see that it looks like a simple trapdoor plate. Does it use an 1873 size plate? Or earlier?

I'm also looking for a magazine for said rifle. I've posted to the WTB and reached out to a few members with no luck so far. Any leads would be helpful.

    Thanks!

A Remington Rolling Block butt plate might also work. The magazines are hard to find. I have had two and one was incomplete.
It took many years to find the first one.

I'm beginning to notice that... I reached out to that gentleman you referred me to, but he never wrote me back.

I'm hoping the Baltimore antique gun show has one somewhere hidden in tbe stacks.

I'll try to find a Rolling block buttplate. Thanks for the advice!
