A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. How do you intend to build one of those here in Canadaicon? Those are long since a prohib... You might be able to get a set of parts from Marstar if you message him, or maybe from Collector Source in Acton On. They would have to gut a working Sten to do that.

Well...an actual Sten is a converted auto or FA. Here we go again building something from scratch and calling it something else. If it was once a Sten it's always one. If you're using FA parts, even if they're altered...and QPP sees it, be prepared for fall out.

If you search this site, you will find a long closed thread detailing the building of semi auto Mk. II clones which were successfully registered as restricted firearms based on barrel length. These were inspected and approved by the powers that be. Mechanically, the breech mechanism has much in common with that of the Cooey 64 .22 rifle. Presumably a gun with the same operating system and a barrel exceeding 18.5" would be non-restricted. It would also be a rather ungainly thing. I would suggest that should you build such a thing you be prepared to demonstrate that it is unquestionably semi auto only, because anyone seeing it is going to assume otherwise.
There is no real supply of Mk.III or Mk.V kits in Canadaicon. There are some Mk.II parts which turn up from time to time.
The semi auto bolt system in the thread I mentioned is long out of production. There is a better mechanism produced by Indianapolis Ordnance in the US. IO will not export to you.

I remember that one well, including the effort to obtain an FRT. More like creating a category...

You could try WTB ads here, on CGN, on GOC.
    Might turn up parts.
Keep in mind that if the Gov't follows through with its campaign promises, the project will be a no-go.
