    Moore Leather UK

Is this company still around? Website appears to be out of date and many pix's removed. Had some very nice items.

If not around who do you recommend for leather work for Enfield collectors?

I dunno, but a couple years ago I was in contact with him about leather caps for an M82 scope for a 1903a4... At some point he just stopped replying, so I moved on after a few attempts. I've heard others have had similar issues.

I'd check Ebay or possibly one of the vendors like Numrich.

Depending on your location, you may find both "craft' leather workers and saddlers / horse hostlers within reasonable reach.

The items you need made are not particularly complicated, but like any specialized product, they require a set of skills and equipment to produce.

In a similar vein: You are unlikely to ask your local carpenter to whittle up a new set of wood for a No4, but someone who makes and restores antique furniture may have just the skills and tools for the job, if your wallet can handle it.

DS-Solutions here in the UKicon has reproduction carry straps and handles for the No15 chest and some other Enfield leather, not all listed on the website, not his main bread and butter but he gets them made when needed

Canvas straps for No.8 scope tins

or you could fit a 1945 dated Pat'44 strap to it. Much easier to use and many members on this forum now use them in preference to the leather ones. I have a handful left if you are interested.
