    New Stock Sets. Gauging interest.

If this isn't the right place for this, feel free to move it.

I found a company willing to make me some No.4 enfield military pattern stock sets, handguard metal and all. They tell me that they have a machinist that can do the metal bits. I'm going to have them make me one for my sniper build. If I like the product, I may have them make a run. I may get them to do some No.1 mkIII sets also. Now that criterion is making barrels for both, it's a good opportunity to start de-bubbatizing these great old rifles.

This thread is to gauge interest. These will be "semi-inlet". They will require some final fitting. Price on the No.4s will probably be around $400 US in walnut. Not sure yet.

In order to keep this organized, I would like posts to follow the following format.

Action type you would like (No.4, No.5 or No.1)

    Hardware (yes or no)

Material desired (birch, walnut, laminate, etc)

Feel free to include any other questions.

I was researching prices and availability for both the No. 1 and the No. 4 a few months ago and not were none of the forestocks available, and if they were, the prices were way up there. That's why I purchased a couple of the Sarco war relics. Reference the metal parts, those are still readily available through Liberty Tree and Numrich. Nothing better than bringing an old war horse back to life by reversing a "bubba" job.

Marstar here in Caanda has listed newly manufactured forestocks for the number 4 rifle. Lee Enfield No4 forestock MARSTAR CANADA
They also have no1mk3 sets that are newly made: Lee Enfield No1 Mk3 complete wood set MARSTAR CANADA

Note their prices are in Cdn pesos, which is very favorable exchange rates for those using US Dollars.

yeah, but I don't know about import laws regarding gun stocks, and those were probably done by Ralph Shaw, who no longer makes them.

Marstar is fully aware of export/import laws. Yes, those are likeley Ralph's work, but if there is inventory showing on the Marstar site, then they have it. Marstar presently shows 2 of the no1mk3 sets and 9 of the no4mk1 sets.

That said, if you can get more made up at a reasonable price, then please do. No doubt there are many many guys who would like them (if the price is appropriate).

It doesn't seem that either supplier wants you to be able to look too closely!
