Mystery Frog?

Any thoughts on the origin of this frog or which bayonet it's for, please? It came with a pigsticker bayonet which is slightly ridiculous as it's even too big for a 1907 scabbard. It appears to be unmarked and unissued. Many thanks for any replies.

I think you have it in the right context. Looks to be new, after some wet and dry it will be smaller.

The 37 pattern frogs are very tight when 'new old stock' and unissued.

The earlier year drop pattern 1907 bayonet scabbard fits easier as I recall.

Is it new, do people actually reproduce 37 pattern gear these days?

Probably showing my age here, but I can remember when surplus shops had 37 and 44 pattern web equipment piled high in bins for next to nothing.

I used to have a 37 pattern large pack for my school books as I recall.

I don't think it's reproduction but it does look unissued and it may not necessarily be British. It seemed excessively loose for a 1907 scabbard and that is why I questioned that application. I can't think of a bayonet, used during or since WW2, that has a scabbard with a larger girth than the 1907 scabbard and which I also have an example of to try in the frog but I am open to suggestions.
