Can I bother someone to check a serial# for me in their SRS?

Hi fellas, it's been a while. I bought an '03 Springfield this weekend and I am curious about the serial#. I would like to know if I bought something genuine or not. The serial# is 1406657, Thanks!

That's great! Thanks, I was hoping it was real. I only had a few pictures to go on.

I got these from the auction house, I won't have the rifle for a week or so. It looked like the real thing but I have been here long enough and listened to you fellow's advice so I was wary of a fake and I only had a few hours to make up my mind. I went ahead and bought it before I asked for the SRS on here knowing I might be screwing up but now it looks like I did okay. I'm sure some are curious so I will tell the winning bid, $2100. It looks like you can see a 3 poking out under the left side of the front sight base and I don't think it was fired much if at all. I'm excited to get this rifle in my grubby little mitts, it looks very nice.

I felt lucky in October when I got my CMPicon 1911 but I feel way luckier to have won this rifle.

It would look killer with and appropriate vintage scope on that mount.
    Good stuff!

I'd replace that safety and that front sight with original ones. Does anyone know which manufacturer made that scope base/mount? I can't remember seeing one like this. A real pity someone modified the bolt handle.

It's an ECHO made by E C Herkner Co. (not to be confused with Herter's!).

I have to say I'm disappointed that my rifle isn't the way it left Springfield and I'm disappointed that I didn't know the parts were wrong. It's still a nice rifle though.
