    building a M1A1 carbine

I have a nice 1.6 Quality Hardware carbine with an Underwood 7-43 barrel, parts appear somewhat correct for this period. This carbine had a nice early IBM stock which I sold to a member here. looking around my wood, I remembered a NOS Inland front end for the M1A1icon carbine, also had for many years the original metal parts for a M1A1, fore-end being damaged really bad. I decided to assemble the M1A1 parts which are all original and will post the photos. The pistol grip is darker color and am not sure I like the appearance ?

    Any thoughts on my M1A1 stock would be appreciated. RobertAttachment 104123Attachment 104124Attachment 104125Attachment 104126Attachment 104127Attachment 104128Attachment 104129

I think it looks good, not surprised you'd have enough pieces to assemble one of those. Probably kept them in a coat pocket all this time... The grip is darker but without losing the patina you can't do much. Looks good...

I think it looks great! No need to do anything to the stock or grip, keep it the way it is.

    Best Regards.....Frank

Ohh, that I like, as our wives keep telling us " it's all about accessorising"
When spending money on matching shoes etc..

Well, the same applies to the M1A1icon!

I've got to get one of those.....

Is that another ink stamp in the stitching in the 2nd pic? In the padding part circled.
