    Mossberg 44

A couple of months ago I bought a CMPicon Mossberg 44, cleaned up and refinished the stock, installed a front sight hood, new red and green safety indicator buttons from Havlin, & a military style leather sling from Cabela's. It's gorgeous! Took it to the range yesterday and I was impressed. I think it's the first time I've shot a bolt action .22 since I sold my Winchester 67 in the early 60's.I'll post some pictures when I get a chance. I find that at the age of 67 I'm in love again and it's a cheap date.

I found the thrill of shooting an accurate .22 cal never goes out of style. I always take mine to the range along with the HP's. Never leave for the range without it. Often find a younster there while his dad is sighting in and approach the dad for permission to allow son to shoot mine. On two occasions the dad was accompanied by daughters. The kids loved it and often asked dad to buy them one. Not every Dad has a .22 cal. So think about it the next time you go to the range.
