Need help with a Stevens Marksman No.12

Wondering if there might be someone that works on the Old Savage, Stevens Marksman No.12. single.

Could maybe rummage through a old parts bin...

Seemed to have misplaced the other half of my firing pin.

OD is 4.7mm

Working with the pieces you have and the gun itself, I'd use a piece of a drill bit shank and make one. You can precision grind the tip to shape with it chucked up in a drill or a lathe if you have access. Use a dremel and stones or cutoff wheels... You need it to go full length of the channel and it floats, needs a cutout for the transverse pin. Bet I could have it done in 45 minutes tops...bring 'er over...

Matter of fact, I'm in Victoria, mail it down.

I was thinking of a drill bit. But it would be a T&E job.
Not sure of overall length. I don't have the broken piece.

I have a few feelers out which I did today. Maybe someone will read and respond over the holidays.
Jack First has them in the South Dakota, unfortunately does not ship to the Great White North.
Might drop him a line away, maybe he'll have a soft heart over Christmas.

I saw that Jack First ad, you have the measurement right there... It would be trial and error anyway, start long and work down. No broken piece is needed other than the ones you have. That gives you the point of the firing pin. You can call Western Gunparts in Edmonton...any gunsmith would just make it.

I took your advice (and other that pm'd) and made one out of a old drill bit.

Won't be able to test till after I clean the rest of rifle up.
Lot of crud inside. Although it looks well used, everything seems to work.

Looks about perfect. If I'd made one it would look like that so it should be fine. A pipe cleaner with brake cleaner or a .22 bore brush before installation in the firing pin channel should help.
