Purchased a Smith Corona 03A3 Today.

My second one, this is an upgrade from the first, so the earlier one will be going up for sale.

This oneAppears to be a nice post war rebuild, S/C parts and R marked parts mixed.

Is there a data sheet available similar to the garsnd one?.......... never mind, found one.

Serial 48300xx places it made in 1944

Barrel date of 11-43, possible mismatch?

    Stamped bands.

Buttstock is S/C, shows correct inspector stamps. non serif P in circle.

    Fine checkered buttplate.

FJA in box, to right is crossed cannon stamo.

To left of relief for cutoff is a post war rebuild stamp. Lightly stamped. Best I can make out is rectangle with RIA iver EK. Slightly to the rght of the EK is a stamped number 3, but still within the box.

Bolt and all bolt parts appear to be Remington.

    Cuttoff is S/C

Wiil get pics up later today

As you noted, your rifle was overhauled at Rock Island Arsenal after WWII and inspected by a subordinate of Chief Inspector Frank Krack. The barrel and receiver are an original combination and the stock is likewise matching. But the trigger guard and handguard have been replaced with Remington parts, in addition to the bolt as you noted.

Thanks for sharing! And Merry Christmas!

Thanks for the reply John, always nice to get your learned input.

I do have a S/C bolt which I will probably swap out. My other mixmaster S/C will go up for sale after Christmas.

A very Merry Christmas to you and yours!
